TradePath QBO MCP Server & Financial-Account Connections
Last updated: July 20, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how TradePath Education Inc. (“TradePath,” “we,” “us”) handles data in connection with the TradePath QBO MCP Server (the “Software”), an internal business application used by authorized TradePath Education Inc. personnel to manage accounting workflows via QuickBooks Online (“QBO”). It also covers the bank and financial-account connections TradePath makes through Plaid to support its own bookkeeping (see Section 9).
1. Scope
The Software is a proprietary internal tool. It is not offered, distributed, or made available to the public or to any third party. Only authorized employees, contractors, and agents of TradePath Education Inc. use the Software, and only in the course of TradePath’s internal business operations.
2. Data Accessed
Through the Software, TradePath accesses only its own QuickBooks Online account data. This may include, depending on the workflow being performed:
- TradePath Education Inc.’s chart of accounts, journal entries, invoices, bills, payments, deposits, and other transaction records;
- TradePath Education Inc.’s vendor and customer records associated with its own books;
- TradePath Education Inc.’s financial reports, balances, and reconciliation data; and
- metadata associated with the foregoing (e.g., timestamps, identifiers, account references).
All such data is data that belongs to TradePath Education Inc. and resides in TradePath’s own QuickBooks Online environment. The Software does not access QuickBooks Online data belonging to any other person or entity.
3. How Data Is Used
Data accessed through the Software is used solely for TradePath Education Inc.’s internal accounting and business operations, including but not limited to:
- bookkeeping, categorization, and reconciliation;
- preparing internal financial reports and analyses;
- supporting tax preparation, audit, and compliance activities; and
- other ordinary-course internal business functions.
Data is not used for advertising, marketing to third parties, profiling of any individual, or any purpose unrelated to TradePath’s internal accounting and business operations.
4. No Sharing or Sale to Third Parties
TradePath Education Inc. does not share, sell, rent, trade, or otherwise disclose data accessed through the Software to any third party, except:
- to Intuit Inc. and its QuickBooks Online platform, as inherently required to interoperate with QBO;
- to TradePath’s own service providers (e.g., infrastructure or hosting providers) strictly to the extent necessary to operate the Software, and under confidentiality obligations; or
- where required by law, regulation, valid legal process, or to protect TradePath’s legal rights.
Data accessed through the Software is never sold, monetized, or made available for any third-party commercial purpose.
5. Retention
Data accessed through the Software is retained only as long as needed to fulfill the internal business purpose for which it was accessed, and in accordance with TradePath Education Inc.’s internal records-retention practices and applicable legal or tax requirements. The Software does not maintain a separate long-term copy of QuickBooks Online data outside of operational needs.
6. Security
TradePath takes commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data accessed through the Software, including access controls limiting use of the Software to authorized personnel, use of secure authentication with Intuit’s QuickBooks Online OAuth flow, and storage of credentials and tokens in protected systems. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to use commercially reasonable means to protect the data.
7. Access by Personnel
Only TradePath Education Inc. personnel who have a legitimate business need are granted access to the Software. Access is provisioned and revoked through TradePath’s internal account-management processes and may be revoked at any time.
8. Third-Party Services
The Software relies on QuickBooks Online, provided by Intuit Inc., to access TradePath’s accounting data. Intuit’s handling of QuickBooks Online data is governed by Intuit’s own privacy policy and terms, which are independent of this Policy.
9. Bank Account Connections (Plaid)
Where TradePath (or an authorized representative) connects a bank or financial account to support its bookkeeping, TradePath uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to securely retrieve account and transaction information from the relevant financial institution — only after the account holder authorizes the connection through Plaid’s consent flow. This information is used solely for TradePath’s own tuition, payment, funding, accounting, and reconciliation purposes, and is never sold or used for advertising or third-party marketing. You grant TradePath and Plaid the right to access and transmit this information as needed to provide the service.
Plaid handles the information you provide in accordance with the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. Access credentials for connected accounts are encrypted at rest and restricted to authorized personnel. You may disconnect a connected account at any time by contacting us; we will remove the connection and delete the associated access credentials.
10. Children’s Data
The Software is an internal accounting tool and is not directed to, intended for, or used to collect information from children.
11. Changes to This Policy
TradePath Education Inc. may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this Policy will reflect the date of the most recent revision.
